We need 4-6 volunteers on Tuesday, August 30 from 4:30 to 7pm to serve dinner at the Community Kitchen. Last year the Keene Community Kitchen served 900,000 meals to more than 11,000 area individuals. Let’s take part and volunteer a few hours to this great organization. You MUST RSVP prior to the event because there is paperwork that needs to be filled out. If you’re interested, contact Jess O’Connor at Jessica@mds-nh.org for details.
Join Keene YPN as we partner with The Monadnock Habitat for Humanity in their annual build. This opportunity is limited 15 volunteers at the site.
To register, go to http://www.habitatnh.org/ and click on the “Volunteer Up” link. At the bottom of the registration page, mark that you are a member of the Keene YPN team, then click on the volunteer calendar and sign up for the August 6th date. To participate, you must sign up on the webpage, complete the safety training, and fill out a waiver.
Lunch, snacks and water will be provided. Wear closed toe shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. No wool turtle neck sweaters – it’s August folks. Sunscreen & bug repellant might be nice to have also. One thing you do not need is prior construction experience.
Note: This event has been postponed from Monday, August 15 to August 22.
Come get your hands dirty at the Head Start Early Sprouts Garden on Monday, August 22, 2011, 5:00 – 6:00 pm at Southwestern Community Services in Keene.

For more information, contact Jamie White from the Keene YPN Community Committee at jwhite@scshelps.org or 603-352-7512.
